WHAT ARE WAIST BEADS?
Waist beads are worn to celebrate and to take pride in whatever shape or size that we come in. While everyone can wear these beautiful adornments, there is something quite magical in a tradition that spans throughout the centuries and handed down to us by the ancestors.
"Waist beads are a traditional African accessory that consist of small glass beads on a string or wire worn around the waist or hips. They come in different colours and shapes and may also include decorative stones, crystals, or charms.
Waist beads have been worn for centuries by women in many West African cultures. In more recent years they’ve gained popularity among women in the West. They’re also referred to as belly beads, waistline beads, or beaded waist chains.
In Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and other West African countries, waist beads are a symbol of femininity, fertility, sensuality, and spiritual well-being. Today, in both Africa and the United States, women use waist beads for aesthetic and practical purposes."

Simply place your order in our Shop section and make sure to include details such as, measurement, waist bead selection, and the type of closure that you would like (clasp or tied).

This is a personal choice, we offer the option of a closure using a CLASP or simply TIED. Clasps are easy to open and close and made with a variety of colours to compliment your style. TIED waist beads are worn with the intention of not removing them. The tied waist bead option will be sent with a few extra inches of string and beads to easily adjust, tie and secure for yourself. (Note: Add a dab of glue to the knot for extra security)
We also offer STRETCH waist beads (clasp or tied) made with durable stretchy cord that are securely tied at the ends and can easily be put over your head or slid up to wear them exactly were you want them, please remember to measure this option carefully.

HOW DO WAIST BEADS HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS AND BODY AWARENESS?
Waist beads are used for body awareness and positivity. While they do not make you lose weight, the waist beads are worn as a means to be conscious of the fluctuations your body may have. Are you on a weight loss journey? Whether your weight goes up or down, your FW will move accordingly. Waist beads can be worn by all women of any shape or size.
Can we also recognize the fact that waist beads are beautiful and above all sexy! When you feel good, nothing else matters!
HOW LONG ARE WAIST BEADS SUPPOSED TO LAST?
With care, your waist beads can last for years! Please remember to clasp securely if this is the type you have. You do not want to lose it!
Remember when putting on or taking off clothing such as pants, or your shirt, to be mindful of the waist beads adorned around you.
With the nickle free clasps, please take off your FW when showering. You do not want the soaps, shampoos, perfumes to naturally dull the shine.
